Message from Convener:

 

Established in August 2020, the Cardiovascular Intervention (CVI) Chapter under the Hong Kong College of Cardiology (HKCC) is dedicated to promote professional education in cardiovascular intervention for cardiologists, fellows in training and cardiovascular allied health professionals. We stride to enhance the standard of cardiovascular intervention in Hong Kong.

 

We will focus on four areas and set up four subgroups as follow:

 

HKCC CVI Pearls Electronic book (eBook):
We hope to create a platform for our experienced cardiologists to share with our colleagues especially our fellows their most important pearls and wisdoms in various aspects in the field of percutaneous cardiovascular interventions. The ebook is in powerpoint format for easy reading. Illustrations of tips and tricks through case examples, diagrams and cine images are encouraged. We hope this eBook can serve the purpose of transferring our collective wisdom of CVI onto our younger generation.

 

Hong Kong Complex Cardiovascular Intervention (HKCCI):
We planned to organize Hong Kong Complex Cardiovascular Intervention (HKCCI) conference in virtual or hybrid format half-yearly targeting mainly our interventional cardiologist. Emphases will be put on updated and advanced cardiovascular intervention knowledge and techniques. Dates of upcoming meetings are 12 December 2020 and 5 June 2021, and the timeslot is from 2000 to 2230. The theme of the first HKCVI is “My Most Unforgettable Case in 2020. A number of well-known overseas faculties have been invited and confirmed to join our meeting as moderator, speaker and panelist.

 

HKCC CVI Fellow Course:
We planned to organize CVI Fellow Course in virtual or hybrid format quarterly targeting mainly our cardiology fellows. Emphases will be put on basic, safe, and effective techniques. Step-by-step and how-to approach with real case examples will be adopted. 

 

The first HKCC CVI Fellow Course will be held on 31 October 2020 from 1430 to 1730 in virtual format. A series of HKCC CVI Fellow Courses on different topics will follow on 27 February 2021, 7 May 2021 and 7 August 2021. We hope our cardiologist and allied cardiovascular health professionals will also find these courses useful.

 

HKCC CVI Industrial Device Webpage:
Device technologies in the field of cardiovascular intervention advance very rapidly. We seek to collaborate with the device companies and invite them to contribute product videos or lectures especially about newer devices with emphases on technical details, and tips and tricks for  safe and effective use of the devices. We hope this wedpage can serve as platform for our colleagues to get a better understanding of these important devices. Your support and feedback are tremendously important for us.
